Hello All....
I was trying to design a H-Bridge inverter and started with one leg driver IR2110. Based on the datasheet and some blogs, I build the circuit and tested.
See the attachment. First i got the low side pulses across the lower mosfet (gate and source). No pulses on high side. After some trials, periodically Vcc and common are getting short circuited. I tried with three ICs and all got fried. Any suggestions.??

Attachment 1: Left side supply (VCC and COM) is showing overload
Attachment 2: IR2110 board with ARDUINO as controller (pulse period is 10ms)
Attachment 3: Tried with another board.... same results
Attachment 4: Total three boards with three ICs failed

 

Can you post your schematic? Is your "load" a dead short?

The problem could be due to undershoot of the FET Vs. See particularly sections 2 to 4 of Fairchild Application Note AN-6076.

I did not connect any load. I just connected two LEDs (LED + limiting resistor) across each MOSFET's gate and source.

One more thing, in place of UF4007, I used MUR1100 diodes.

I absolutely agree with @Alec_t . The Fairchild AN-6076 is an excellent description of what is happening. Look at Figure 18 in the app note.
