Hmm my last thread got autodeleted for some reason and I waited 24 hours and still gone. Gonna try again here mods. This time I'll wait longer between posts which I think was the flagging issue last time.

To begin: the project goal: I am working to make a series of humanoid robots. I am using a Biblical theme of naming the first 4 robots I make Adam, Eve, Abel, and Dinah. The goal is for these robots to have human body inspired musculoskeletal systems, advanced AI, and that they look human and pass for human to a casual observer at least at a distance. They must be able to walk, talk, run, dance, do sports, do chores, manufacture products, and make more robots just like themselves if not even better. My aim is to build a single robot arm and head and then add sufficiently advanced AI to that arm and head to enable it to build the rest of its own body for me. This way I am delegating the work of building the majority of my first humanoid robot to that robot rather than doing that work myself - and this is to save me time.

In a like manner, my goal with the AI is to code just enough AI that the AI can begin coding itself and this way I don't have to code most of the AI myself because it will self create itself. I liken this to building a seed and that seed growing into a tree because for me to code that tree would take too long for me and just creating the seed would then save me time.

Here's my CAD for the torso:

Hi, thanks for that idea. However, I don't see a blogs section featured on this website and it took 10 minutes to find it and I could only find it on my own profile at that. No direct link on the main links bar across the top of the website. In the AAC blog stats it says that of the 400 blogs there are only 600 blog entries in total across them all and average 1.2 comments per blog so like .8 comments per blog entry. In other words that portion of the website, a hidden basement, is completely dead with no visibility comparatively and practically nonexistent feedback. I'd rather post my project updates here where there appears to be much better visibility and have an active discussion thread to bounce ideas off the community and gain regular feedback and suggestions as well as share my approaches. This section is a discussion forum and says robotics and control which is my topic exactly so I see no problem posting here. If that would be okay I'd prefer that route.

@schmitt trigger I was unjustly banned there by Dave Jones despite not breaking a single rule by his own admission. I followed all rules and was banned because of bad actors there who Dave did not coral or warn as he should have. This is equivalent to Noah building the ark and people gathering around to jeer at Noah and Noah politely defending his position and decisions as he goes about his work and then somebody comes along and kicks Noah out of city for causing too much controversy. It is completely absurd. And the fact is, I was respectful toward everyone there and patiently gave honest feedback responses to respect and thank everyone who replied to my updates. I deeply miss the people I interacted with there and saw a lot of good there and got so much incredible feedback while there and I noticed one person active here who was actively participating in my thread over there. I miss those days already. My hope was to appeal the ban once my project is absolutely proven successful as I feel that the controversy over my pulley strategies and whatnot would be irrelevant if I prove it all. I have no ill will toward Dave for what he did. He's trying his best to keep a certain vibe. I get that.

@MrChips My project is about automation, robotics, and control and has very little to do with AI currently. I have determined the AI is not going to be even worked on at all for YEARS. My focus is on basic motor controllers, microcontrollers, power, actuators, pulleys, sensors, etc right now. The AI will come much later down the line. Post about my AI on a AI forum when I begin the AI phase is a good idea though.

I don't understand your project. It sounds like a flight of fantasy to me. The advanced state of robotic development over the last few decades is the result of teams of highly experienced engineers and vast quantities of money. I assume that you are on your own, and without those kind of resources at your disposal. By comparison, all you can ever hope to achieve is to make very crude robotic toys.

The purpose of this forum is to give help to people stuck in their studies or projects. So what is your question?

I wish to gradually catch this thread up to my current project status by filling in the progress so far. Here's my robot hand bones building:

@BobTPH I have lots of questions to come but wish to catch up to current project status first for critical background context of the design approaches.

@KeithWalker I can understand how you would have that view. Hopefully the work will speak for itself regarding this going forward.

Well...nine posts in and the electronic content is underwhelming. Don't see much in the way of robotics either more like an art class in materials and modeling. Seems like another self-indulgent wannabe looking for a bit of attention and maybe a touch of self-aggrandizement. Your work may be amazing, and you might be on the verge of something important, but your presentation and reputation just ain't makin it!
