MSO5000 signal overrange detected on 12v signal

Hello,
I connected my MSO5074, now working at 350Mhz, to a 12v battery which was fully charged using the included 10x oscilloscope probe. I pressed the auto button and got "Signal overrange detected". I tried looking in the user manual without success for the message. I also read through the troubleshooting section, again, to no avail.
I tried using a different probe, but I got the same result.

To be clear, the voltage displayed is the correct voltage and has the correct polarity. There's no problem that I can perceive except a scary error message.

Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on?

Thanks!

PS: I'd ask Rigol directly, but they never get back to me.

It's probably looking for AC in the input signal.

Don't expect miracles from the "auto" button, set the controls appropriately for the expected input.

Set volts/div for 5V
Set time base for 1 mS per division.
Set trigger for free run.
