Looks like there is an official release version to try on some of the older projects that are archived. I've used the Linux version of code for some kernel C stuff. It's something designed primarily for programmers, not embedded hardware guys. I'm working on paring down the thousand options on the screen to the basics needed to write code, compile the code and debug simple controller apps. MCC works pretty well for template generation.
