For some reason 8.40 does not support PICF1619 that board came with.

If we put on a chip it does will Curiosity work with 8.40?

Microchip discontinued support of 8.40 before the 1619 was released.

Its Amazing, each time new update is downloaded 600 megabyte and countless headers are created most of them will never be used even once

Windows is just not very intelligent.

Why not keep them compressed and unpack the first time they are used? Or even dont download them only the first time they are used.

Instead you have to download + install the whole litany of headers each time and its growing each time.

 

Microchip discontinued support of 8.40 before the 1619 was released.

And MPLab has not been supported for some time now. Long past time to move to MPLabX and XC8.
