I am using ubuntu 8.04 and windows vista for my laptop, but ubuntu does not support MPEG and MP3. It supports only ogg and some other format. I want a MPEG to ogg video converter which can install in windows vista.

 

Why don't you use VLC media player within Ubuntu?

That's good suggestion, but how can i get VLC player for ubuntu and how it can install in my computer. I know how to install VLC player in windows, but how i can install in ubuntu.

I have connected my laptop to internet and installed all codecs essential for ubuntu 8.04 for playing mp3, MPEG, DAT and AVI formats. Now I don't want VLC player to play my songs and vedio. Thanks
