Hi guys!

My group are going to make a presentation for our class about modbus.
The thing is, none of us really know how it works.
So I'm asking you if anyone could be so kind and try to explain to me the basics, and some pros and cons regarding modbus.
What would be a good alternative to modbus? Why should anyone use modbus?

Edit: I've tried a few Google searches and my best lead so far is this forum.

Har prøvd, men finner ikke noe fornuftig. Det meste jeg frå frem fra google er for avansert forklart i forhold til hva vi skal presentere. En enkel forklaring av hvordan det funger og hvordan det blir brukt er nåkk.

Hadde også vært fint å hatt noen fordeler og bakdeler med modbus, Hva er prisen kontra andre alternativer på markedet?
