I am tempted to find a tea bag and see what happens but Kathy gets mad when I get around the microwave because a few bad things have happened. A few weeks ago I wanted a PB&J sandwich. The peanut butter was in the fridge. Well hard cold peanut butter rips the bread up so I decided to ever so gently nuke the peanut butter. Forgot about the foil band around the seal. The sparks were nice right till it burned through the lid. Little things like this make her dissuade me from touching the microwave.

Tell me about derailing a thread in so many directions in so few posts...

Way to much exposed to microwaves our regulars or just affected by last weekend libations? Monsters you said.

Myself a full week exposed to Patagonic solar radiation, perplex by what I read. :p :D

My British bare boat sailing instructor in St. Lucia would make me a cup of tea each morning and make himself a cup of coffee.

A small experiment with the microwave oven here at work:
  • A cup of lukewarm coffee.
  • A strip of paper with a full size staple (half inch width).
  • Two presses for one minute full power on the oven.

Result: The coffee had an adequate temperature and the stamp was the same temperature as the air in the oven.

Was the staple in the coffee or was the staple open and exposed like the staple on the tag of a tea bag?
