Hi.
I am about to replace the plug on one my device because i have very bad experience with client`s devices.

The questions :
i use chinese hot air station which is not calibrated i think. How many Celsius to be the temperatue?
How much time can i heat the board without damage it?
Adding flux to points that should be melted is good for me, right?

thanks

Don't set the heat source for the same temp you want the solder to melt at otherwise it will take way too long to heat up the device and everything will be cooked. Set the gun to about 370 to 400 C.

1. Gently lift the part with a pair of tweezers (not heavy tools, they absorb too much heat). Lift just enough to lift that side of the printed circuit board off of the workbench.

2. Put the hot air on the part until the PCB falls down to the bench.

3. Smile because you were successful.
