Hi Guys ,
would like to get some help and if at all possible a circuit diagram for the METCAL PS2E-01 solder station PSU.

Background :
The unit which has worked for the last 4 years since i got it 2nd hand
Unit runs on 240v/50hz directly to the PSU ( no step down req )

Problem
when 240v power is applied , the 1.5A ( Not slow blow) blows in the mains socket ,
step2
remove solder wand and dont turn on unit at top switch - result fuse continues to blow

items checked so far
remove cover and isolate transformer from main pcb - confirm transformer give 30v Ac ( 15v -0 - 15) ( no fuse blow)

Remove 2200UF/50v for inspection and looks ok
No short at bridge rectifier- remove and diode test ok
Found choke L51 has over heated as it black around windings - but looks like it taken some time to do this ( unsure)
re
No parts look crispy - but without some diagram not sure where to go next on this , removal of large heatsink seems like the next step to check the larger components , but no reference guide for the input section of this so stabbing in the dark

OK, so the situation is that the fuse blows even with the power switch off.
You will need an ohm meter to do any testing, but the good fortune is that the fault lies before the power switch, MAYBE. The firs thing is to verify that the power switch is actually working, and switching off. Then you will be checking the items across the mains input before the power switch. For this you will need to trace the circuit and see what those items are. Check each one for having a resistance less than 200 ohms. When you find such a part, probably that is the failed part.

power switch on the metcal PSU , looks like its not switching any mains , more like a low voltage secondary output to other stages , removing this switch from the entire board gives the same result

the transformer is fine and the 30v ac out put from transformer is fine , so the pcb has a fault that make the transformer draw more then 1A

its clear a circuit diagram is required , or at least a person who has gone down the road of repair for this type of metcal equipment

Metcal use an RF induction heating system, there will be a mosfet oscillator or push-pull type output feeding the heater.
