Hi, I have a Nordic Track machine (T6.5si) with a MC1658DLS. The motor is a McMillain 3200 (DC). After a water damage incident (spill on the unit), the MC1658DLS failed. (not the first time it happened....!!!). I replaced it, everything works.....except, the motor 'hunts', the speed varies up and down by say 2 or 2 mph. It's also running too fast, I'd say almost double speed!

I know the MC1658DLS works from a PWM signal from the console (screen) and the speed measurement is via back EMF I think (there's no tach circuit or wiring from the motor or anywhere else I can see). The motor also responds to load, by speeding up. But the speed still varies.

Question is, it the console to blame (clearly outputting a PWM signal as speed *can* be selected, it just hunts........). Or is it the motor (I understand they go bad rarely....).
