I may have gone a bit crazy with the breakout boards. But in my defense I wanted to be sure that I had the right one with so many package types it's hard to decide. OOPS maybe next decade I will know. It will be that long before I use these up.

I'm more inclined to purchase extra of whatever I actually need so I'll have them on hand. I purchased 100 SOT-23 to SIP adapters, used up a couple dozen and ordered another 100. I ordered some SOIC16 adapters and cut one to use for 2 SOIC8 chips. Then I decided to buy the SOIC8 adapters that were narrower.

I also bought some SOIC to DIP adapters for testing parts in SOIC (e.g. 93C46R). I also needed to make an extra adapter because the mentioned device has a rotated pinout:

 

Well It seems that even though I thought I covered all the bases I did not. I received SOT 223, SOT89 breakout boards and it seems there are others that I missed it seems I need SOT23 that is even smaller than the SOT89. I managed to get a SOT23 chip to go onto a SOT89 breakout board but I don't actually trust it. So I guess for the final connection I will need the SOT23 breakout boards also. so I have SOT89, SOT223, Is SOT23 the last one I will need or is their others I should be thinking about.

 

Never buy one or two of such things, if you need one now you'll probably need one again at some point. I always buy a bunch of things like that.

I use SOT23 more than SOT223 or SOT89 (I've never used the latter). I think SOT23 adapters are also compatible with SC89, which are even smaller than SOT23.

Regarding any others, I'd wait until I needed them and buy 50-100 of them.

The psychological disorder was thrust upon me by Dennis In order to build the circuit he gave me. I think he secretly wants to drive me nuts.

Isn't buying germanium transistors a bit like buying a Simpson meter, fun to have but otherwise not much use.

I have a Simpson 467:

It stopped working and I haven't spent much time troubleshooting it. Checked the battery and fuses and set it aside.
