Yes it will. The better solution depends on your workflow. If you want to move info back and forth between OSes and maybe only need the alternate OS for a small part of your work (eg. I think I used Windows to secure a corporate VPN connection, and that was all I needed it for), then running in parallel makes sense despite the performance overhead. If you can work for hours at a time in one or the other, it'll be better to just boot into that OS. That's especially true with an SSD, since rebooting takes just seconds.

On the other hand you find you like the Mac messaging, mail, photo, and cloud integration enough to leave them on all the time, even though you may be working on something in another OS.
What about turning it on (running them side by side) *only* when needed instead of Windows running all the time alongside with Mac OS, possible?
I think I will need that sometimes... I am downloading Virtual box.

Sorry to bother you guys :)

Would you install Windows 10 or Windows 7? Windows 7 has always been my preferred one but I might go for 10.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

You’ll always get many opinions on this kind of question. Personally I’m not one of those people that hangs on to old OSs. As soon as a new one is available, I get it. The only exception was the Mac switch to OS X. I let that go through a view versions before jumping on board.

Getting bitten by an upgrade may have happened to me a couple times over several decades but on the whole I have not regretted it, and in general saw benefits to every new OS. I understand that things have been different on the Windows side.

If my hardware will run it, I’d go with the latest version. It’s nice to be current.

When I removed my hard drive and installed the 512 SSD and I put the old one in a case which you can dedicate more resources to the Windows side without sacrificing it on the Apple OS

I surf on the net with the Apple and then do other stuff on the Windows side at the same time, I also share files between them so if I need to download a file to my desktop on the Mac just put it in a folder and drag it to your windows side and scan it before you open it. The windows OS never sees the net only to do Updates or add a program I know is safe.
