Hi, i want to activate a mosfet via a gate driver that is signalled by a comparator. I want to ensure that the comparators output is 0 when low. Would it be a good idea to place a small high speed diode in series to the output to reduce the output low to zero, Or are there better options?

I dont want to change the comparator

Gate driver ICs usually have inputs which accept logic-level signals. Logic low level can be somewhat above 0V (up to 0.8V for TTL logic), so the existing comparator output is unlikely to be a problem.

I'm pretty sure a diode won't do much for you. Tell me what comparator you are talking about and what precisely the circuit you are considering looks like. Schematic diagrams preferred.
