Did you try it with a matched impedance signal?

What you're doing now is changing the impedance of the filter to more closely match your AC supply; which is fine. Our OP is going to have to do that anyway, since they didn't supply those parameters in his request.

The resistors are external to the zero-impedance source. I don't understand what you mean by
changing the impedance of the filter to more closely match your AC supply.
My top schematic is the same as yours. You said it had negligible loss. I'm saying it has 6dB loss. I think you must be assuming the filter is being inserted into a 50 ohm system that is already source and load terminated. RF systems typically are designed this way. Audio systems are not.
I simulated the other termination schemes just to show what would happen if you inserted the filter into non-50 ohm path.
I think you and I are on the same page now, but I doubt this filter is going into his system without significant attenuation.
