Brown trout in Norway are native. In many lakes and rivers in Norway. They are implanted by man. But the fish you see here(in my pictures) is from a very old pure-bred wild race.
Steelhead has been implanted in some lakes in Norway in the 70s. But they do not reproduce very well. So they have died out. Now we also have very strict rules regarding implanting non native species.

 

They used to stock a few rainbow trout in Loch Ness years ago. If you caught one you'd win a bottle of whisky from a local newspaper.

But I don't know if they migrated with the salmon.

I thought there wasn't any life in loch ness. I remember watching a documentary a long time ago about the loch ness monster and the main arguement as to why it can't be real is that there's no ecosystem to support fish, which it would eat. is that the case? or is there fish in there?

If we saw the same documentary, there was not "enough" small fish to support a large predator.

Loch Ness isn't really the most fertile of lochs, but as many of the fish in it (salmon) are migratory, the loch sees alot of fish pass through. Atlantic Salmon don't feed in freshwater anyway!

BTW, Nessie does exist....

 

I watch alot of documentaries,this was my research to find out what happen
to the fish frys The price of fish ended up being the down hill of the fish fry.
The start was lent season ,when you eat fish on friday Instead of meat.

 

8-15-2011,not thinking of food tonite,some good post on food last night.

pace. After a Texas company was exposed of cheating people out of there
money to get tax help,the ads keeps appearing on T.V..I am always curious
about how these ads can continue after being exposed.It turns out that the
company Is on the stock exchange(taxs) smybol. So stock buyers are making
money off the greed.Stock owners are paying for the T.V..What feed the
greed Is not regular tax problems, no there biggest business Is to get people
to file for the child tax credit.Once someone pay them and maybe received
some of the Direct payment from the I.R.S...They call themselfes tax advocates
and tell the I.R.S. that the people should get money,that keeps them In business
The audit Is between the filer and the I.R.S.,there a legal loophole that lets the
company off the hook,leaving the taxpayer against the I.R.S. who get the tax
credits up front and could never have the money to pay back a tax lien because
they in poverty,There are national ads about these tax credits and some how a lot
of check are being sent out,then comes the audit with no one to pay,there is a lot
money making poverty deals with no way to collect.

 

poverty is a lucrative business aparently. coyotes make a few years wages in a day smuggling illegals into the country and leaving them for dead. payday loan organizations charge 300%APR. some charities take your charitable donations and keep 98% of it.

When I was in high school I worked nights at a telemarketing company. I would make cold calls "on behalf of the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association" and it was my job to sell a sad story about DPS officers losing their lives in the line of duty, and their families need money. I was only required to tell the people on the other end of of the line that these families may recieve less than 5% of the money if the caller asked. Those who asked never contributed. It was a very demoralizing job. One night I kept getting elderly people; several times I recieved a pledge on the grounds that "they would send the money as soon as they got their social security check". I couldn't take it any more. I walked out and never went back; never called. I still feel sick when I think about it.

be careful loosie. I know you are one with the ocean and all, but the sea is a cruel mistress. She won't spare you. Have you boarded up your windows? bathtub full of fresh water? genny fueled up and tested? shotgun handy? plenty of beef jerky? Studies show that the majority of home destruction in hurricanes comes when winds get inside the house, and that happens very often through the garage door. Think of what kind of resistance the garage door presents to a 100mph wind; not very much. It's basically a big aluminum foil sail in a hurricane. Best to brace that from the inside, or at least back your car up against it. People always board up their windows, but neglect the garage door.

Sitting at the computer having my coffee,waiting for east coast
hurricane reports.Wondering if some members are busy with the
storm. No reports from the Md. area,how far inland did this storm

Saturday Nite September,4,2011, I just had a thought that these words
will be on the Internet forever. I think thru searching I have found some
pages of Forums before the Vbulletin setup. Some of the early searches
don't come up any more the same way.The information Is not presented
the same way,you get what google thinks you are looking for,so young
people won't find the same world that was on line in the nineties. I wonder
If anyone reading this has the same experience of an old article not coming
up as you remember it. Can you think of an old post that you are sure of
and try it today.This way history can be rewritten or in different way.
They showed a video of google mapping the jungle without sound,some
of the residents was upset when they were told what they were doing.
