Ok after a thorough attempt to find something...I think I have found the circuit used, which does not indicate the audio amplifier portion.

Why do we need to pry information like that out of a poster. The TDA1083 does have AGC for the IF section. Pin 16 is AGC/AFC.
This is a very good question. Could it be that the O.P. simply does not have the experience to understand the question that you have given, hense his plea for assistance. Remember, not everyone has the skills that you do. I would suggest that if you are finding that the O.P. is maaking his questions difficult, that you abandon your responses, anad move on to a more skilled o.p. that matches your skillset exactly. Now back to the statement at hand, now that I got this off my chest.
Someho, I think that the schematic that you have posted is a hybrid of this radio, with extended functions, as I have athe radio here on my bench tht in no waay has transistoirs , diodes IF Transformers, etc...ot only haas a handful of components plus the chip.
It is incredibly hard to include the exact chip marking s, as its microscopic. I will continue looking for a schematic

Im not on a trail at all, I have just decided it is not worth being berated by the likes of you. This was simply a response to you that was kind enough to not get me banned, which this project is not worth.

Berated. Goodness, let me apologize if that's the way you feel. In no way was that my intent. I was only saying there was a electronic way to reduce the sensitivity. We all make mistakes, me more that most I guess when trying to honestly help.

 

It is really hard to give you help when we have no idea what problem you are trying to solve.

If I understand you, you want to limit reception of an FM and AM receiver to only the local stations. And apparently the receiver must be this cheap single chip receiver.

You seem to think lowering its sensitivity will do that. It will not unless every local station is far stronger at your location than any non-local station. I seriously doubt that that is the case, a local station might be a guy in his garage with a 20W transmitter. And a station in the next town over might be a regional or national station with a 50000W transmitter. Which do you think is going to have the stronger signal?

Also, a receiver does not cut off sharply below some signal level. The audio degrades until it is swamped by noise. Lowering sensitivity will not block every station that is non-local. It may make the weakest ones disappear completely, but others are likely just to have more noise and distortion.

Also, AM signals are affected by atmospheric conditions and even time of day.

We all see that your proposed solution is not likely to work. And since we have no idea what it is you are trying to accomplish, suggesting other solutions is it an option.

I'm not smart, I'm a practical little nothing. The really smart people ask me, how do we make this new theory work and make them money. A man's got to know his limits. My limits are many but I can actually build damn near anything from a dog house to a linear particle beam machine. I grok machines at a physical level. The difference with many practical minds, is that mine can also do the theoretical if it's needed to understand how to build something. If I don't understand, I will take the time and energy to understand it at the level needed for practical engineering, not because I love the theory for science, it's because I what to see how it works and make one myself. Once you understand the language of the priest-hood, their culture, traditions, and earn their trust, they come, to you, to make their dreams real. Computer programming and computer architecture are just machines to me. When I program, I don't build data structures, information flows, or arcane OOP fantasies. Each part of the program is a nut, bolt, screw, lever, motor of a machine. The type of machine I can 3D manipulation in my head as the mental model of control and function. It's not hard or easy to do, as it was there from my earliest memory as a child.

Just like poor kids assumes all kids are poor until they see some have a lot more that others, I assumed that all people think this way as a child, boy was I wrong ... It tends to scare some people, and other think you're a con-man when you talk about things. That's why there are societies of like minds or groups (the military is very good at finding us when we are young) that accept you as what you are. Those groups understand and also have the experience of the endless hours spend reading and learning to fill the tiger in your head so it can sleep at night. It's the tiger that say's, BS to BS.

I made millions in my lifetime and spent a lot of it on toys. No regrets here on my limitations. BS is called out for what I see it as. I've been targeted as some sort of quack and been missed just as many times.
Now, I'm 99% retiring from working so I'm really building the things I want. It's a blast.
