In a nutshell ended up back at Microchip MPBLAB X IDE learning Assembler and C.

You can struggle and resist. Complain and squirm but it is the most useful way to go. I think and am doing it that way.

I take it this is 'The Lounge' of this forum so I hope this fits here.

Somewhere in embedded and programming seems more appropriate - learning PIC programming isn't off topic!
Having said that, what's the question?

So there is no lounge here.

Okay no problem. Have somebody delete this.

    No questions.

    Thanks!

This seems to be the equivalent of a lounge and your post is appropriate here.

    Nice forum.

    MCU's AND electronics.

    Not a company site either.

Yes.Steve Martin was great. Worked at Disneyland in high school.

Basically going through Gooligum tutorial is a grind.

Think I need to realize it is technical reading.

I expect it to be 75% entertaining and 25% factual.

Books are a little more entertaining but still have technical in them.

I'll quit whining and prepare to go at it again tomorrow!
