I have a power cord for a different laptop but it isn't enough voltage is there a way to modify it to increase the voltage?, yes I know buy a new one, sorry I'm a why buy a new one when I can modify one I already have...thanks for your time..

 

Unless the difference in voltage is very small it is not practical to modify the power supply block for a laptop.
Even if the difference is small it might be difficult to find what parts to change without a schematic which will probably not be available.
