I am trying to build a switching circuit based on the L293D motor driver, but the current is limiting at 100uA not allowing LED to glow. I tried connecting grounding of LED to 2Y pin still same response, I am puzzled why L293D is not allowing the current to flow!!! need help with this
The schematic looks correct as far as the pinouts are concerned.
I believe you need to connect all 4 ground pins to ground.
I would connect input pins 1A and 3A to ground through a 10K resistor.
Other then that I would suspect wiring errors.
I agree the pinout is OK despite naming in a different order than the datasheet.
A photo of your build might help. Probably something silly is wrong. A bypass capacitor on the IC power would be a good idea. And how clean is the output of that buck converter? You might try another 5V source.
I got the solution, the load of LED is very less to draw current from L293D IC. When I connected my circuit with a heavy load bulb, it started working fine. so basically, L293D can drive heavy loads but doesn't operate at low loads. Thanks, everyone for replying.
