Well, I spent 17 years in Minnesota. Not quite that cold, but miserable weather nevertheless. I learned that a -80 wind child was serious. I remember one period when flying didn't meet IFR minimums, not because of clouds, ceilings, or fog, but because the pressure was so high, altimeters weren't calibrated for it. It was, as you might expect, crystal clear and visibility unlimited. But, of course, rules are rules.
