Jurry-rigged Peltor boom mic question

I'm not remotely electronically inclined, but I do like being able to talk on the radio while things are loud outside. So, I'm trying to connect the pictured headset to my Peltors by replacing the little speaker on the headset with a 3.5mm audio plug. Is this something I can just cut off and splice right on, or is it more involved than that?

It can be done but there are many Peltor headsets that include wired (via 3.5mm jack) or bluetooth input to the ears so it's generally not worth the trouble.

The difficulties you may encounter include: conformal-coated PCBs, tinsel wire and impedance matching/amplification requirement.

Don't take this the wrong way but for someone with admittedly minimal electronics experience, I wouldn't advise attempting modification as it's almost certain to fail leaving you with nothing.
