I am thinking about getting some PMP Series SSRs

Is Bigger better? The 25 amp is basically at the 80% limit. Does it matter if I get a 50 amp instead for an 2000w load. Knb question, but I know just enough to be dangerous.

 

If the lower one is operating at 80% of it's limit, it may have a lower MTBF than the higher rated one. Depends on how much use it is going to get and how critical it's failure is.

I have never used the Crydom Analogue controlled SCR, but basically you should be OK with over rating the Triac output device.
Are you using the phase angle version or the Burst firing method?
