    Hey guys

Electronics is new to me so I'm not too sure on where to seek assistance or how to find information so I would be very appreciative of any help.

I work in a grammar school as the physics technician and I'm experiencing an issue with the aforementioned PSU's. They are only 1-12V and up to 8A in current but I have a few of their supplies which have exceedingly high current values when at lower voltages which only increase with voltage far beyond 8 amps. I am getting readings of up to 16A whilst the supply is switched to 4V; has anyone else experienced any similar issues or have any advice on how to lower the current? As I work in a school health and safety is paramount and I have removed the offending units from circulation and would like any advice on repairs/returns please.

    Kind regards

What kind of load are you connecting to the power supply? How are you measuring the current. A hand drawn schematic of how things are connected would be a BIG help.
