Thats funny the irfb7437 is good for 195 amps the irf640 is 18 amps
Ian0 i don't think he will have a problem with a 12 volt motor
He probably found the circuit on the internet where someone just said use irf640 because they had one lol

“Engine control module” is rather ambiguous. Maybe it generates a higher voltage for the ignition. Maybe it doesn’t. Maybe, like you said, whoever designed it had a job lot of IRF640 and decided to use them. Reverse engineering always produces some odd conundrums. Often I wonder why a weird and wonderful E96 value resistor has been used to drive an LED.

I have used it and it's working perfectly. The engine is running like new and I am very happy.

Engine control module just runs some motors only 12 volts stuff fuel pump air and spark but it doesn't output high voltage
Thats handled by power pack these days.
