Hi everyone....I'm trying to use a motion detector which sends a 3.3v signal to trigger a small section (maybe 1ft) of a one-colour led strip. I'm struggling with what I can use to do this. I have a difficult time reading the data sheets, as I find all the numbers confusing. Can anyone tell me what I should be using, and how it should be wired?
Thank you for any suggestions...

The datasheet for the IRFZ44 Mosfet shows that its gate-source voltage must be 10V for all of them to fully turn on. Many barely conduct at the maximum "threshold voltage" of 4V but a few of them will if you are lucky and randomly get a sensitive one.

There are a few "logic level" Mosfets that fully turn on with a gate-source voltage of 5V.
There are a few very sensitive Mosfets that do what you want but I have never needed one so I do not know the part numbers.
Maybe a search for 3.3V Vgs at Digikey will find them.

LL FET, N Ch., FDD6530A, 36 m ohm, +- gate 8V, 21A, SMT, good conduction @ 2V gate, available @ Digi Key.
Need inf. on LED strip.
