Hi! I am having a hell of a time trying to make IR2117 work. I am working on the proposed design from the datasheet. I am using a 1N4108 diode, tried lots of capacitors on both VCC to ground and VB-VS (from 330nF to 100uF), 30 ohms resistance on gate (tried from 3 ohms to 30 ohms with no results), a logical signal 12 H, 0L with 4s period and IRF540 transistor (tried 70n06 too). VCC tried 15-12V and V on drain 24V.

The thing is i believe to have seen it working a couples times, but i can't recall a different configuration from the one i am using now, it almost seems like the circuit works sometimes, some others no. I would really appreciate some help.

Is R2 4k the load? Try changing ot 400 or 40.
You don't have to use a 1N4108. Use a fast diode. Voltage needs to be better than V3 + some head room. Use something in the SPICE library.
Problem: C1 needs to be charged up when M1 is off. Current flows from V1, U4 C1 R2(load). Because the load is so, not there, the current is not flowing.

Yes it is. I will try it tomorrow (euro), it may work, but in the real application i will have a 170k load... How could I make that work?

What construction method are you using?

 

i have set up it on a breadboard, if that is what you mean. Not sure.

In your schematic the 1N4108 diode has only one terminal connected.

 

It has both connected. Anyway I am working in a real circuit, the LTSpice SCH works just as a hint for showing my circuit

 

Why are you using a 17A MOSFET to switch 140uA (170k load)?
You could switch that with a couple of bipolar transistors or a comparator.

 

that might be a good idea... Main factor is i have this hardware available not the other. Could you provide me with any hint to do it with a couple bjt or a comparator?
