Hi!

Can anyone tell me exactly the function of this card, there seems to be very poor documentation for its functions and support.

I think i5 processors do not support it, but I want to be certain. Will an i5-2540M processor support this card?

My specs are:
Dell E6320.
Express card 34.

Thanks for that, can you clear a few other things:

What does this card do and does my processor support it?
It is cache, sort of storage between ram and cpu. A lot of servers use this technology, it is probably where IBM pulled it out.

Technically, I think, you can put it into slot used by wifi card. I think they both mini pci-e cards. Will it work as cache for the cpu? I have no idea because I assume IBM/Lenovo did something specifically for the cache card, Dell did not do it because it was not in their design so sticking cache card into Dell is basically user's (your's) decision.

I think it was in their design, but I don't know for this CPU. Is there any way to find out if the CPU supports it? Maybe customer support for Dell or Intel. I tried Dell, but I could not find a chat/email option during my time zone.

The easiest is to look in the User Manual and Service Manual. They often have a list of parts that can be used to configure a system for a customer.
this has basic list of parts in the beginning: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/...e_laptop/latitude-e6320_setup guide_en-us.pdf
this has step by step disassembly and reassembly, and list of parts in the end, but! I don't see any mention of bluetooth in the list while they show bluetooth module in disassembly section: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/...aptop/latitude-e6320_owner's manual_en-us.pdf

Another way is to look what parts and accessories are available for your system by the vendor. I see Dell selling hard drives, network cards, some adapters. I do not see cpu cache cards. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/pfydresults/208489?categoryId=2999&tab=parts

Forget it. Its useless. I did not see anything of use in that. I also found on the internet that the new iCore processors are not supported, and mine is an iCore i5-2540M processor.

I have 3 wifi card slots and 1 express card slot, I guess they will remain for nothing.....

While we are at it. From this documentation I see that my laptop supports i7 processors, is there any way to see for certain?

EDIT:
I think this one is good for an update: Core i7-2715QE.
