OK, I believe most to all of us agree that green is a good thing. That said because green is good does not mean setting unattainable goals or unrealistic goals. What happens all to often is people with absolutely no working knowledge of power generation decide green is great and we need green tomorrow or the day after. The technology is getting better but still has work needing to be done. Green needs to be made affordable. We all saw how Solyndra panned out and had anyone applied some engineering skills before handing them over a half billion dollars they would have known the company was doomed to fail.@joeyd999
Are you saying that "green" is the wrong way to go , and by extension, we should dig up all the carbon fuels we can and burn them ?
Their chemistry could not compete with the competition. There should be lessons learned as to bad investments and this should have been well known before co-making a loan. . Green is good but people with no knowledge of power generation should not be setting goals. Goals need to be realistic and attainable.Solyndra was a manufacturer of cylindrical panels of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin film solar cells based in Fremont, California. Heavily promoted as a leader in the Clean Energy sector for its unusual technology, Solyndra was not able to compete with conventional solar panel manufacturers of crystalline silicon.
