Quite a turn of opinion from your inflation/growth claim.
I don’t think it is. It is quite consistent.
Money is a numeric entry on a computer, entered by a financial institution (bank) as a loan. The bank expects a return on investment (ROI) in the form of interest. This is inflationary.

Oh, if that's YOUR definition of inflation, then, well, umm. Not much reason to have a discussion.

Well I must be missing out on something.
You are missing the fact that he is giving a link to an Ayn Rand quote. Something that in the not too distant past got me in trouble in the forum. Has Ayn Rand now become a topic that can be talked about?

No. Money is the practical manifestation of your own effort, skill, and knowledge, and the only civilized means by which to trade your effort for that of your fellow humans.

You may damn money only to the extent to that you damn yourself.

What is incredible about her is not just her quotes but when she coined those quotes.

Currently as to inflation or recession? There is none. :)

https://fortune.com/2022/08/24/hous...es-2023-downgraded-forecast-moodys-analytics/
Back in May, Moody’s Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi came to Fortune with a bold proclamation: The U.S. housing market was entering into a “housing correction.” Through the summer, Zandi said, U.S. housing activity would plummet. As it did, Zandi said home prices in bubbly markets like Phoenix and Boise would begin falling.

At the time, Zandi’s prediction was dismissed by many in the real estate industry. Housing bulls thought that tight supply and favorable millennial first-time homebuyer demographics would continue to propel the Pandemic Housing Boom forward despite spiked mortgage rates. They were wrong, and Zandi was right: This summer, housing activity contracted sharply across the board while bubbly markets, like Boise and Las Vegas, have already started to see price cuts.

What I find incredible is people that follow a novel by a failed writer(at least in her time) as a model for life. When some teenagers found her books it gave them an excuse to be what was depicted in the novel. Only certain types of people that are at heart greedy, find it a plan to follow.

“Skyrocketing electricity prices are now exposing, for different reasons, the limitations of our current electricity market design,” von der Leyen, who heads the EU’s executive body, said Monday in a speech at the Bled Strategic Summit in Slovenia.

“It was developed under completely different circumstances and completely different purposes,” she added. “That’s why we are now working on an emergency intervention and a structural reform of the electricity market.”

The unprecedented spike in power prices, which have soared almost 10-fold in the past year, has fueled inflation and dramatically increased the economic burden on businesses and households recovering from the pandemic.

Closure of coal power station set to be delayed to prevent UK blackouts
Uniper had been due to decommission one of its 500-megawatt units at the Nottinghamshire plant at the end of September, two years before closing the remaining three units at the site.

Under the deal, NGESO is expected to pay the company a fee to delay the decommissioning so all three units can be called on if needed. Uniper will also be compensated for costs incurred, including coal purchases, with any additional charges eventually being fed through to consumers’ energy bills.

The UK government has committed to ending the use of coal power in Great Britain by October 2024, a year earlier than originally planned. But that target is now at risk as ministers and power operators race to ensure security of supply.
Buckley said a return to polluting coal power was a “trade off” between progress in tackling the climate crisis and ensuring energy supplies continue smoothly this winter. “There are trade offs everywhere. The big trade off that Europe got wrong was relying on Russian gas,” he added.

CALIFORNIA (WTVO) — With California’s power grid under strain due to extreme heat and high demand, the utility grid operator is asking residents to avoid charging their electric vehicles. This comes days after the state announced a plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035.

The California Independent System Operator is asking residents for “voluntary energy conservation” over the Labor Day weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, the western United States is facing a “prolonged and record heat wave.”

“The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights,” the American Public Power Association said, asking residents to limit energy usage during 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

“Today, most people charge their electric cars when they come home in the evening — when electricity demand is typically at its peak,” according to Cornell University’s College of Engineering. “If left unmanaged, the power demanded from many electric vehicles charging simultaneously in the evening will amplify existing peak loads, potentially outstripping the grid’s current capacity to meet demand.”

California never ceases to amaze me. Buy an EV but please don't plug it in. Forest fires attributed to overloaded power lines and when deemed necessary rolling blackouts. Lets build and build till we overpopulate an area. Glad I lived there during my much younger days. Two places I have npo desire to return to short of short visits, NYC where I was born and raised and California.

Careful Ron. You can discuss the effect, but the cause must not be mentioned.

My bad, maybe I can use the strikeout feature? Have to admit it's pretty humorous. Seriously though I feel sorry for them out there. I did enjoy all my years in the San Diego area and I have to admit envy when I spend my winters here in NE Ohio. Yeah, maybe I can do that redacted thing? :)
