Hi im building a counter using a cmos 4026 and a monostable 555 timer to debounce the switch. The counter will be used for a scoreboard and I dont want to pay for a large 7seg led....so i built one with spare led's I have. My question is this.
I want to use the carry out pin on the 4026 to drive a string of leds in parallel (through a transistor of course) to create a 10's digit, but the carry out is high from counts 0-4 and low from counts 5-9. How do i go about creating a sort of trigger to light these up after the 4026 goes from 9-0.
thanks!
ps. i know i could just use another 4026 but id like to avoid that...im thinking somewhere along the lines of logic gates, or maybe a flip flop.
