A meteor. Harumph! I want my money back. Back during the Leonids shower of 1998 we saw 4-5 a MINUTE for about a week!

I can think of about 100 reasons to go to Scotland. At that point, who cares about the Leonids, I'd be sipping a Glenfarclas 25, or frankly, almost anything Speyside.

 

Here in San Francisco (and L.A.), there's so much background light that you can't see any meteors unless they're the size of the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs.
