Real Life examples that use "Multiplexing and/or Demultiplexing"
1) Keypads / Keyboards
2) LED Dot Matrix Displays - LED Advertising Signs
3) Alpha-Numeric & 7 Segment Displays on appliances
4) Parallel-to-Serial and Serial-To-Parallel conversion
5) Decoding of an OP Code (Register Selection in the ALU) of a CPU

You are not researching efficiently. You have already been given enough information to get to what you say that you want.
Let me explain:
Real Life examples that use "Multiplexing and/or Demultiplexing"
1) Keypads / Keyboards
2) LED Dot Matrix Displays - LED Advertising Signs
3) Alpha-Numeric & 7 Segment Displays on appliances
4) Parallel-to-Serial and Serial-To-Parallel conversion
5) Decoding of an OP Code (Register Selection in the ALU) of a CPU
Above, you were given 5 examples as has been noted.

1. Take the term "7 Segment Displays"
2. Add to that the term multiplexor"
3. Use Google to search for "7 Segment Display multiplexor"
4. When the search comes up, click on "images"
5. Click on a few example schematics. Here is the first one that came up when I did it...

6. Visit the site where the schematic came from (https://tams.informatik.uni-hamburg.../45-misc/50-displays/multiplexed-display.html)
7. Read about the project and the use of a 74138 3:8 demultiplexer

Continue doing this with all of the examples already given to you as well as the other links that have already been given. After you have spent enough hours actually researching examples of both, you will be in a position to formulate any questions if you still have some - and you will have learned a different way of "researching" because I don't know what you were doing...
