Possible?

Reason:
If I keep the water bottle closed for a prolonged time something stale smell is coming out ot it. At the same time I don't want the water to be spilled this making floor nasty and wet. Possible? Please suggest if it can be achieved by a common man like me... Thanks

I think you are solving the wrong problem. Filter the water before putting it in the bottle and disinfect the bottle every now and then.

 

No Bob. You are telling a solution for a problem after it happens. I want to 'Avoid' the problem itself. It's not about dust or debris but damp smell which comes out of the bottle if keep it closed for... Let's say 3 days!

 

The damp smell is caused by bacteria. Eliminating the bacteria is a preventative solution.

Use chlorinated tap water...

 

Design it like a Weeble, so that it when it lands it doesn’t spill even if the top is off.
