How to buy or make a shock proof enclosure?

I would get you logger design down...plus padding...then select a case.
I hear ya. But if case selection turned out to be limited, my design might preclude my otherwise best case choice. No harm in looking around at my options first.

Why not make your own?
Go to Home Depot or Lowe's to the plumbing dept.
...
Go to the bike shop and find a water bottle rack to fit the PVC tube and attach rack to your bike frame.
...
Way to think outside the box... and inside the cylinder! ;)
I like this idea! It's an option I'll look into further.
Thanks!

Sounds like you are looking for a professional/production solution. Gonna give props to those who assist?
Think small bicycle pump down around the central frame below the seat. Clip mount as the pump. Cylindrical in shape, the internal components protected by swimbait plastic, (plastisol)medium to light grade.

What makes you say that? I'm actually just a hobbyiest looking for a one time solution for something I'm not selling.

Not sure what you mean. I'll continue to thank anyone who gives me advice. If I haven't been coming across as grateful, then to all who have give me advice so far... "Thank you! I've got new options I hadn't thought of! This is great!"

This sounds like a step up in sophistication to the PVC pipe and foam padding idea. I'm not doing anything professional, so the poor man's version should be fine. A clip mount may be a good idea. If it snaps in hard enough to hold tight, yet will still let go when hit very hard, that might be good. Thanks for your help.

Looking at PVC hardware online, I found a "conduit body":

They come in a range of sizes and inlet outlet orientations.
I kind of like these. I'll have to check them out in person though.

What all are you going to have in the circuit for it to be so big? I have seen dataloggers with GPS, Compass, and all kinds of other goodies and it still fits into a smaller package than what you are looking for.....

and battery, and foam.

I mentioned the size of a Wiimote. After battery and foam, it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of room in something that size.

The conduit body that I suggested comes in many sizes. But I don't have actual dimensions, just the size pipe they're used for. I see 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", and 2".
I didn't specify which size I'd be using, because I don't know.
I think I'd be hard pressed to even get a 9v battery, foam, and any circuit into the 1/2" size. If I use a conduit body, I'd definitely go with the smallest necessary.
