How are charge, precharge, discharge and precharge triggered? And how does the communication between the BMS chip and the MCU proceed?
For example, how will the gate driver enable the CHG FET when the Charger is connected? So how does this signal reach the driver?
Can you clarify the pre-charging and pre-discharging process when the charger or load is connected?

 

While logically the gate driver should be enabled when the charger is connected, what I understand from this diagram is that the Charge FET turns on when the charger is connected. I couldn't understand the function of the gate driver there.

The purpose of the gate driver is to drive the gates of MOSFETs whose source may not be referenced to GND.
