I see the categories on the left (electromechanical etc) but how do I put my own post in a category?

Thanks so much

Joe
Click on the category you want. It will open a page in that category. Then click on “Post Thread”, enter a title and your question. It will be added to the category you clicked on.

How did you add this question to Feedback and Suggestions?

Um, that's separate from the forum lists (where I went to post this)? But let me check

Yeah when I click "post new thread" after selecting electromechanical, it takes me to the forum list that I used to get here. I can post a screenshot if need be.

So I made an assumption that there was a forum named “electromechanical”. There isn’t, so now I wonder what you’re referring to as a category.

Joe,

I have a vague memory that when the orange version was just introduced, this very question came up. And I think the resolution was categories were not implemented.

Here is the reference. It is post #117 in the threadAAC Upgrade Thread - Feedback & Bugs”. Apparently, categories were not functional.

Right after the upgrade to the site was performed, there was (is) a thread discussing issues. eetech00 commented that categories were meaningless.

I hate the orange color and more compactness of the blue version. I just happened to stumble upon it when I was playing with the settings. I thought I arrived at a new site after I played with my settings. Definitely wasn't expecting a completely different layout.

If I am correct I believe you are looking at the All About Circuits Home page and not the Forums page.

Look at the top menu bar and you should see
Home > Forums

The Forums site of AAC is separate from the commercial enterprise site.

Ok, I see it now (orange scheme).

From any non-forum page, the Categories panel shows up on the left side of the page.
Clicking on Forums (last menu option) brings you to Latest Forum Threads.
Clicking on a category pulls up latest articles related to that category even though the category does not exist in the forums.

So basically, ignore the Categories panel when you want to post a new thread.

Click on Post New Thread and select the forum from the list shown.
