Hello everyone, I am new to electronics and I am currently designing a linear regulator using the LT1575 Controller. Could someone please assist me in determining the value of RLIM for current protection?

 

The IC current limits the peak current in the MOSFET.

 

The IC current limits the peak current in the MOSFET which is not the same as the average current in the output. The two currents are related.

Can I use the equation to determine the value of Rsense if my maximum load current was set to 1A? The value would be Rsense = 50 mV / 1 A = 0.05 ohm.

 

I just tried it in SPICE and 0.05 ohms = 1A
