Hi - sorry for a newb question but I have a nordictrak 2950 with the controller board MC2100ELS-50W-2Y. The HD2 connector upright wire harness has burned out on the red console power supply cable. I've had the console changed ages ago, but only just found this issue. I can't source the replacement harness, so wanted to redo the connector, but can't find it - does anyone know the connector type?IMG_20241003_100713[1].jpg

Hi
I didn't mean the whole cable assembly , just the red wire and its counterpart .
You may have to extend one of the damaged wires.
Good luck..........

There are other connectors that match the foot-print I have used in a pinch in the past. they just miss the latch feature of the plug,

I'm new to 'All About Circuits' and I confess to being much better with mechanical things than electronics. I was a chief engineer on large merchant navy vessels at the time they became automated, so I had to learn at that time. I have not kept up with modern electronics, and I have little faith in my ability now. Having read lots of forum posts here regarding CM2100 DC motor drivers and wanting to put a treadmill motor onto my lathe. I have collected the necessary parts and ordered what I think I need to make the controller work without the treadmill electronics. I would be very grateful if someone here could check out my wiring diagram (attached), and let me know if it is correct. The spade connector LG6 worries me as I feel it should be connected to something, I don't know what that could be. It is not connected to the aluminium base plate is. There is one spade connector marked as 'earth/gnd' that is connected to the base plate. Which reminds me I have not shown the earth connections on the wiring diagram. I will be connecting all the metal parts together with each other and the incoming earth wire. Thanks for all the wonderful information you produce and give out here. Colin

The board usually has a ground Connection from a spade terminal marked Earth GND mounted to the LV PS ground plane, the other GND point is a short wire connection from LV PS through a 10ohm resistor to earth GND (Chassis).
What ever you use for the PWM signal into HD2 pin 4 possibly may require a series resistor to limit the current to the Opto isolator that the pin 4 is connected to .

Thank you for your knowledge. I've updated my circuit to how my limited ability allows, can you please look it over and see if I have interpreted your meaning correctly? The PWM I'm using is the XY-KPWM that you suggested to another member concerning a MC2100 controller. There are so many versions of this controller, each requiring a slightly modified setup.

It seems to check out OK, I ended up programming a small, 8pin microchip controller on a 50mm x 50mm PCT, for the control, fitted with RPM control and Stop/Start PB's !

This PWM (XY-KPWN) has a pulse control Knob and an on/off switch built in. From what I have seen on YouTube, the stop/start switch bypasses the soft start delay. I also believe that when you restart, you return to your previously used speed. Care is needed not to do this when set to a high speed. Is it common for a circuit board to have the chassis connected to ground, and then at another connection (LG6), which is connected via a resistor to ground as well, and what could be the purpose of this?
