Hello everyone, I am designing an infrared transmitted circuit using ic 555 and i wonder that
IC 555 will transmit an interrupted pulse to the Received circuit ( I mean the IC blinks leds )
so, what is different between using IC 555 in the circuit and without using IC555 in the circuit.
Why don't we transmit Infrared light directly to the Received circuit without using IC555 ?

By switching the IR emitter On/Off with a 555, the IR beam is effectively AC, so the receiver can be AC coupled and any ambient light will not be amplified by the receiver amp.
