I am trying to use the Cirrus Logic CS5466 to calculate power usage in household electronics. I am using the basic circuit shown on page 14 of the 5466 datasheet:

http://www.cirrus.com/en/pubs/proDatasheet/CS5466_F1.pdf

Since I don't have a strong background in electronics can anyone help choose the correct resistors and caps for the voltage divider and current sense (shunt) circuits that are used as inputs. A standard house, of course, has 120V AC, 20 amp, 60Hz circuits.

Any help with choosing these values would be appreciated. Or even how to connect transformers here instead.

It really doesn't explain the purpose of the Capacitors in the circuit diagram I have. Is there a reference which will better explain this?
