Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help me. I have bought 2 cctv ptz camera. They use a 12v 1A output psu. Now i need to have this about 10 to 15 meters away. When I try to extend it the cams do not work. Can anyone help me please?

I think you will find that all the outputs share a common ground, so you cant series them.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, measure the actual voltage right at the input to the camera?
ok used a normal 12v psu.

If the normal cable is used, it works. If i connect the ethernet cable, then i have 12.6v but as soon as i connect the cam the readings keeps jumping but never over 1. its always .456 or 685 or so. Those last 2 figures were just examples, goes too quickly to read properly.

Pls advise.

this psu is a 2 amps

You might have the wires in the ethernet cable crossed. I would expect the voltage at the camera to be a steady, but low value, like 9V or 8V. There should be a +12V connection at both the power supply and camera, and a 0V (gnd) connection at both the power supply and camera.

Just double check and i been using the blue and blue/white and brown and brown/white for power.

The other 4 cable, 2 pairs are working well as ethernet and can connect to it fine.

So I am not sure anymore
