Hello and thanks for reading and answering.
I have this GHD Model 4.2B and is doing some weird stuff, so I hope someone can help me repairing it.
When I plug it into the wall socket, it does absolutely nothing. No Led light, no sound, no heating. But (and here comes the weird part) if I plug it into a UPS protected socket, then it lights up the led, makes beeps and heats.

That's why I think it might be something of the voltage filtering or like so, because the UPS gives fully normalized current.

I also checked continuity in the fuse and heaters and they're ok. The only component that doesn't have continuity is marked with a circle in the pic I attach.2023-03-01 09.48.02.jpg2023-03-01 14.48.31.jpgScreenshot_1.png

Can anybody help me fixing it?

The circled item is a Capacitor, have you measured the voltages when it's on the mains and ups to see what the difference is?

Thanks for your answer Dodgydave but I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I haven't measured any voltages, I have only measured continuity in the components on the board.

Not sure of you've sorted the straighteners out, I repair this model and normally if the don't switch on or do anything its 99% either R8 or R11 resister which has gone, or the thermal fuse. The resistors On this model should read around 50 ohms in circuit, Easy to repair replace.
