I would like to build a step up switching regulator able to supply 50v out from an input voltage of circa 3.3v.
The output current can be very low: 5mA
Any suggestion?

Have a look at the MAX668.
Figure 5 in the datasheet will give you a hint, using the table at page 12.

The Texas Intruments website has an app that will give you several alternative designs to meet the specs you enter.

Of course they all use TI chips.

Hello Bordodynov, thanks for the schematic. I've assembled it on a solderless breadboard but unfortunately it didn't work.
I've used all the components listed in the schematic.
