Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are well. I need bit of a help with my reversing camera.

I bought this car rear view camera unit (link; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112030238251?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT) on Ebay. It works all fine. I want to use this not for reversing, but for some other purposes. Therefore I need to get rid of the reversing grid line (red/yellow/green). I found this website (http://forums.hackmaine.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5005) in which that person has given a step by step instruction how to do this.

1. Please could anyone guide me how I can find out what type of chip is used and where I can get the diagram (like the one given in the instruction)?

If you know a better way of doing this, please feel free to give some advice :)

2. Its a waterproof camera, so I also need some help how to open it up without cracking or chipping it please.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Chances are its screwed together, looking at the pictures its got four recessed holes, maybe for screws, otherwise it will be glued.

Hi,

It wasn't actually glued or screwed. It was simply attached and infilled with waterproof foam or something like that (this holding two pieces together). My camera circuit is slightly different to what is given in the above web link. EEPROM is the same thoguh but I tried everything from disconnecting pins 5 and 8 but nothing works. I think I should try with resistors but couldn't figure out which one to start with.

Any advice?

I Guys,

I thought I'd come back and update on this topic. I've tried everything that I know of but nothing worked. So I ended up buying a new camera from Ebay.

Cheers
