Hello people
I am new to this forum & would like some help please with a series & parrallel resitor problem.
I had 2 questions I needed help with & to save time I have made a word doc with drawings & all my working out. To me these seem quite complicated. during my research on this site while compiling this document I have resolved one part of the question (Ir1), but have it in with the origional working out & added the correct answer. I hope some one can see my mistake (with Vr5) & help me see where I have gone wrong. I do know the correct answer & have included it, but do not understand how to complete the calculation.
many thanks in advance for any help recieved
Lloyd

the equation i wrote for the first circuit is

Ir1 = 30 / ((( r4||r5)+r3)||r2)+r1

perhaps your lack of using brackets is affecting your ability to correctly calculate the current drawn.

thanks s lannan But I have already solved the Ir1 problem.
thanks rijori, I have looked at this already, but will go through chapter 7 again, particularly Analysis technique & see if I can find the error in my calculation.
if anyone can see the gapping hole in my calculation, please tell me thanks lloyd.
