Here's a countdown timer that has 5, 10, 30, 60 (minute), 2 & 4 hour settings. If you want any of those timeframes then why build when you can buy? Of course, I enjoy building even when you CAN buy. Choice is yours. And this can be used for more than just a 5v 1A wall wart. It has the ability to control a 1/2 horse motor, 1200 watt (some cases 1800 watt) loads. Your wall wart isn't going to come close to those ratings. And you can use this for something else at a later date.
