I put this part on my board but got the N and P channel swapped.

Rework is possible in a few ways but id love it if I could find a part that just swaps N and P. I haven't found one yet. As I expected, they are all the same pinned out to the same standard.

use the same part and just rotate it 180deg

 

Unfortunately that doesn’t put the drains and sources in the place I want them

 

From the data sheet, rotating by 180 degrees simply changes the polarity. The S, D and G pin locations remain the same.

 

Pins 1 & 4 are Source
Pins 2 & 5 are Gate
Pins 3 & 6 are Drain
Q1 is N channel
Q2 si P channel

Orient the chip according to where you want Q1 and Q2.

 

If the availability price reflects a trend toward 2 18650 LiPO The standard would or already is 7.2 - 8.4 V minamal polarity +-3.6, having said that
Possibly N and P channel could gravitate toward an allocation for preassembled on adapter board with heatsink.
Then previous application types may not be the best for dual 18650. There was a move toward these chargers.

This is why I can't simply rotate the part 180. I need Q2 Source where Q1 drain is currently.

Yes, but according to the previous post, the schematic had source and drain swapped on one of them. Rotating the part won’t fix that.
