Help diagnosing a wayward DMM

So, scavenged this interesting looking DMM from the local dump yard. By make and looks, seems very much of the industrial grade.

Cleaned it and put in a battery. Displays comes up, not entirely dead.

But the voltage readings both on AC and DC go all over the place, even without the test leads inserted. Continuity doesn't seem to beep ( with leads, of course ) .

Can post pictures of the PCB and the chip specs, if someone would like to have a go.

Please post the model type of the DMM, I cannot read the type from your vid.
There area number of sites on the web that show the internal circuitry of DMM's.

The brand is MOTWANE. The model # is DM-375.

The company does have a website. But, they don't list this particular model anymore.

I am hoping it might be just a bad cap or something of that sort. I feel really sad seeing so much repairable stuff discarded and ending up as junk in landfills. Honestly, gives me nightmares.
