Hi guys. I am fairly new to all of this. I have some light electronics and circutry background. I am trying to find a way to create a safety device for motorcyclists. Essentially I am looking for a way to transmit a signal from the bike to a device with lights whenever the brake handle is applied. Was wondering what forms of transmission might work best and require as little power as possible for the receiver. I am assuming RF is going to be the best way, just didn't know if anyone had any experience with anything else that might be more effective. I don't expect all the answers, even if you guys can point me in the right direction I am more than happy to do the research myself. Thanks for all the help

 

Perhaps you can expand a bit on the "device with lights", especially as it differs from the brake lights. Oftentimes, a plain wire is really best for an on-off signal.
